Studying in London I don't get to see my family very often. Of course there's Skype and Facetime, but nothing really compares to spending time with them in person. When I do get to go home, I try to treasure every minute of it. On my last trip to Germany we went to one of my favourite Italian restaurants in Stuttgart, 'Da Capo'. It is beautifully located in a small park and profits from a very cosy and romantic atmosphere. We ordered a selection of their sophisticated dishes such as green aspargus with burrata and caramelised figs as a starter, followed by perfectly cooked beef as a main course. To complete our lovely evening we shared a divine chocolate mousse topped with berries. What I love about Da Capo is that they don't overcomplicate their dishes - it's all about letting the natural flavour of the fresh ingredients shine. If you live in the area and you've never been to Da Capo, I highly recommend you to check it out!
As we were driving past the beautifully lit city on our way home , I felt like there was something quite magical about sitting down and having a meal together. Taking time to conciously listen to eachother and enjoying great food reminded me once again of the importance of living in the moment - of enjoying the simple, yet important things in life.
