Vorld / Notting Hill

Ever since I have seen the film 'Notting Hill' with Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant, I have planned to visit this West London gem. For some reason it took me six months of living in the city until last weekend, I finally got around to explore the streets around the famous Portobello Road. Being joined by one of my good friends, who has been a Notting Hill enthusiast for quite some time, she showed me around the market and antique stores, as well as the more quiet residential roads. According to her, the launch of the film had, indeed, a profound impact on the neighbourhood, which was suddenly flooded with tourists and locals on the search for the famous blue door belonging to 'William Thacker's' apartment (props to you if you can find it below!). Still, the neighbourhood has clearly kept its authenticity and village appeal, profiting from the merge of its original heritage shops with more modern, experimental restaurants and coffee shops.

If you have never been to Notting Hill, don't wait as long as me and head out there on a Saturday, get yourself a delicous Nuttella Crêpe and recharge your batteries in the warming spring sun. Continue your walk towards Hyde Park, where you can enjoy a picturesque sunset along Kensington Palace, before setting off on your journey home from Notting Hill Gate tube station. If only every day could be a Saturday...

I was wearing: Rich & Royal coated jeans, a Darling Harbour Cashmere jumper, my Sandro loafers, a Zara coat, a Joseph bag and sunglasses that I bought on Brick Lane.
