One of my favourite weekend activities is heading to West London's fashionable Duke of York Square for a trip to Saatchi Gallery and the adjacent food market. Champagne Life is the exhibition currently on, which showcases a variety of upcoming female artists' work curated and favoured by Saatchi. The exhibition is as diverse and colourful as it could possibly be, with everything from pop art featuring Kimye satire, to an art installation by Saudi artist Maha Malluh consisting of a collection of burnt cooking pots titled ‘Food for Thought – Al-Muallaqat’. Check out the exhibition if you're into colourful and fun art, filled with irony.
My uniform this month consisted of basic black skinny jeans (Monki), super comfortable boots and my new fluffy faux-fur jacket (Zara) - perfect for London weather. I also rediscovered my love for necklaces - my new favourites are my HRH collection pieces, which easily transition from day to night.
I don't usually feature the same place twice on the blog, however, el Ganso is simply such a fantastic restaurant that I had to give it some more love! Located on Hoxton's buzzing Broadway market, it's the perfect place to spend a Saturday afternoon enjoying one delicious Spanish tapa after another. My friend Franie ( she recently started her own fabulous travel blog!) and I ended up spending three hours indulging in the most delicious culinary treats and chatting with the super friendly staff. Highly, highly recommend this place to, well, basically anyone!
Flash back to the beginning of the month, when I celebrated my 20th birthday and headed to Hamburg in the North of Germany to visit family and friends. Although, it was absolutely freezing during our visit, I truly cherished the time spent discovering the city and trying northern German specialities. One of them are 'Franzbrötchen', a special type of cinnamon bun, which one can only find in Hamburg. I could not believe that as a lover of all things sweet, I had never had one of these delicious baked goods before. My thoughtful and lovely friend Lisa decided to enlighten me, preparing a very special birthday cake featuring the local speciality.
