VORLD / FEBRUARY
Antico is a little restaurant on Bermondsey street serving simple yet incredibly delicious Italian comfort food. This month was my second time at Antico and it surely won't be the last! Make sure you try their aperitivo cocktails like the SE1 spritz and the lobster and blood orange starter, which is one of my favourite dishes on the menu. Also, notice the sneaky portrait of my mum - doesn't she look stunning?
'Vogue 100: A century of style' at the National Portrait Gallery is an exhibition which showcases photography and editorials taken from the past 100 years of Vogue. The exhibition is on until 22 May 2016, so there's still plenty of time for you to see this both entertaining and interesting collection of fashion and journalism history. I was incredibly fortunate to receive the exhibition book which now lives on my coffee table and serves as a continuous source of inspiration.
My friend took me to Sticks'n'Sushi near Covent Garden plaza the other day and I was really impressed by the quality of their sushi. The somewhat wannabe hipster setting and atmosphere of the restaurant aside, we had an overall good dinner. It's not the most affordable sushi place in London, so I'd suggest to come here for special occasions or if you're willing to spend 30 pounds upwards on seriously decent sashimi and california rolls (and cute waiters...).
That same night we headed to the apple store at Covent Garden plaza to listen to a talk with London based designer and Central St. Martins alumni Huishan Zhang. Interviewed by a former Vogue editor, he spoke about how his brand has grown over the past years, about his time working in the couture atelier at Dior and about how his Chinese roots to this day strongly influence his work. Take a look at his most recent collection which showed at London Fashion week here.
